My Story
I'm an award winning filmmaker, photographer, and writer based in Atlanta and Saint Simons Island, Georgia.
My story begins on Saint Simons Island where I was born and raised. The immense beauty of the Georgia coast was great training for my eye. In high school, I saved up my hard-earned hourly tips from a local barbecue joint to buy my first camera, a Canon Rebel T5i. Simply pursuing my curiosity of visual storytelling, this humble purchase lit a spark that I've had ever since.
While attending the College of Coastal Georgia, I spent my summers as a kayak tour guide, paddling through salt marshes and chasing sunsets with my camera.
Then everything shifted in a single moment. Just after I turned 21, my father passed away unexpectedly in his sleep. I didn’t realize it at first, but the loss ran deep. I found myself navigating uncertainty. The following summer I doubled down on photography, filmmaking, and nature. This was the subtle launch of Sam Ghioto Studio Inc. Opportunities started pouring in: friends needed wedding films, portraits, music videos, and brand stories. As the years have gone by, I have put the reps in.
Today, I’m a full-time filmmaker and photographer. I love traveling and telling stories. If I'm not on set, you can find me working on my own films or exploring nature.
